The numbers behind TS Galaxy’s 2026 Nedbank Cup final appearance

All the key stats and facts behind TS Galaxy’s run to the final of the 2026 Nedbank Cup, where they will face Durban City at Peter Mokaba Stadium on May 2.

 

Most minutes
420 – Goalkeeper Ira Tape and defender Kganyane Letsoenyo are the only two players to have featured in every minute for TS Galaxy so far in the 2026 Nedbank Cup campaign. Behind them are striker Victor Letsoalo (403 minutes), defender Igor (395 minutes), winger Seluleko Mahlambi (384 minutes) and striker Junior Zindoga (361 minutes). They have all started every match for the club in their run to the final.

 

Top scorer
2 – Veteran striker Victor Letsoalo has netted two goals in the 2026 Nedbank Cup so far, taking his career tally in the competition to nine. He also has goals in the Nedbank Cup for Bloemfontein Celtic, Royal AM, Sekhukhune United and AmaZulu. The other players to find the back of the net for The Rockets this season are Igor, Tshepo Kakora, Siphamandla Ngwenya and Junior Zindoga.

 

Most substitute appearances
3 – Defender Veluyeke Zulu, defensive midfielder Jeffrey Dlamini and left winger Mory Keita have all come off the bench on three occasions for Galaxy in their matches this season. Thirteen different players have appeared as substitutes in all.

 

Oldest and youngest players used
37 – Veteran midfielder Mpho Mvelase is the oldest player that Galaxy have used this season at the age of 37. He has been around so long that he helped second-tier United FC reach the Nedbank Cup semi-finals in 2013 under coach Dan Malesela, who would go on to lead Galaxy to the title six years later. Mvelase has been a mainstay of the Galaxy side since joining the club three seasons ago from Marumo Gallants.

 

18 – Striker Siyabonga N'Guessan is the youngest player Galaxy have used in the Nedbank Cup this season at the age of 18. He played for the final eight minutes of extra time in the Last 32 clash against Marumo Gallants, though he has not appeared again since.

 

Team goals scored
6 – Galaxy have scored six goals so far this campaign, managing to find the back of the net in every round. They netted once against Marumo Gallants (1-0), twice each against Mamelodi Sundowns and Jacksa Spears (both 2-0) and once against Milford FC (1-1).

 

Team goals conceded
1 – Like their final opponents Durban City, Galaxy have only conceded once this season. That came in their 1-1 draw with Milford FC in the semi-finals. The player who netted the goal was Siphosethu Ndlabi.

 

Disciplinary
12 yellows – Galaxy have received 12 yellow cards in their four Nedbank Cup ties so far. The only player to get more than one, though not in the same match, is Seluleko Mahlambi. In all, 11 different players have been booked.
